The Foundation
Since 2008, the actions of the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès have been guided by a single, unifying conviction: “Our gestures define us and show who we are”. In other words, by acting for the well-being of all, we grow and become better human beings.
The Foundation’s four core missions enact its commitment to targeted philanthropy and support through in-house programmes designed to transmit skills and expertise, create new works of art, protect the environment and encourage gestures of solidarity.

"Obol" at Le Forum

To begin the 2026 programme at Le Forum, curator Reiko Setsuda has invited her colleague Tomoya Iwata, director of the Tokyo exhibition space The 5th Floor, to propose an exhibition. Iwata has in turn invited Armenian-Lithuanian composer and artist Andrius Arutiunian to mount his first solo exhibition in Japan. “Obol” transforms the Foundation’s Tokyo exhibition space, located on the 8th floor of the Hermès Maison Ginza, into an underground world.

Nuits Balnéaires, the second laureate of Latitudes

In 2025, Latitudes continues to shine a spotlight on the contemporary Ivorian photography scene, as Nuits Balnéaires becomes the second laureate of this programme conceived by the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès and its partners. Thanks to this support, Nuits Balnéaires has produced a new body of work centred on a metaphorical journey in search of his origins. The public will be able to discover the resulting series, “Eboro”, through three exhibitions and a publication.

Artists’ Residencies 2024-2025

In 2024, the Artists' Residencies programme began a new two-year cycle under the artistic direction of curator Emmanuelle Luciani. Centring on a reflection around intersecting temporalities, the cycle has been conceived as a unified project under the title “Passé Présent Futur" (Past Present Future). Four artists have been invited to undertake residencies at Hermès workshops, where each will produce an original body of work drawing on the expert know-how of the house’s artisans.

Manuterra 2025-2026

Manuterra 2025-2026

September marks the beginning of a fifth school year for Manuterra, learning from the living world, which continues to expand across France. Across the Foundation's 13 partner boards of education, more than 1,000 pupils are now participating in this programme, which seeks to raise young people’s awareness of ecosystems. By cultivating a plot of land, they can explore the many facets of biodiversity and engage more closely with environmental issues.
