The
Fondation d’entreprise Hermès is a not-for-profit initiative conceived as an
umbrella organisation for new and existing acts of corporate citizenship on the
part of the house of Hermès. The Foundation operates in France and all
over the world:
- through its own programmes and activities (exhibitions,artist' residencies, conferences, the "News Settings" programme, the Prix Emile Hermès...)
- by providing support for external project
Projects may be submitted
in the following areas of activity:
> “New
settings” programme (performing arts)
The “New
settings” programme provides a focus
for the Foundation’s support in the field of the performing arts. (click here).
> Promoting
exceptional craft skills
The Fondation d’entreprise Hermès
supports projects working to promote craft skills and their integration into
contemporary and future society
- Restoration of objects of fine craftsmanship, or works of art, drawing on and
highlighting exceptional expertise. - Exhibitions
and projects highlighting works of exceptional craftsmanship,
cultural or heritage value to the public at large.- Institutional or not-for-profit projects promoting exchange and dialogue between creative
artists and skilled artisans. - Projects highlighting craft expertise as a tool for social, cultural, economic
or ecological development in specific regions or communities.
> Educational projects
The
Fondation d’entreprise Hermès supports projects aimed at helping
underprivileged young people shape their own future as independent adults; from
access to basic education (reading, writing and arithmetic) to professional
training, in particular the transmission of traditional craft skills and
expertise.
The
Fondation d’entreprise Hermès does not support:
- Preventive campaigns.
- Asult education and professional training.
- Sponsorship schemes.
> Biodiversity
Support
from the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès for biodiversity is concentrated in the following
areas:
- Research programmes and
field projects aimed at studying and preserving biodiversity - Projects that associate the
preservation of biodiversity with the transmission of traditional expertise,
and projects working to promote sustainable, people-centred development.

To submit a project, please download, complete and print the application
form for your sphere of activity. Please return completed forms by post to:

Apart from the “New settings” programme, the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès organises three
selection annual rounds for submitted projects. Applicants are invited to
submit their projects as follows:
- before 30 April for a decision before July 31
or
- before 30 September for a decision before December 31
or
- before 31 December for a decision before March 31
To
facilitate the administration of the applications process, please submit your
project by the dates indicated.
The Foundation
d’entreprise Hermès will not consider applications for support in the
following areas: - Projects
connected with architecture,
architectural heritage or archaeology. - Projects connected with the fashion industry. - Projects connected with the
visual and fine arts: projects for new artworks,
solo exhibitions or exhibitions by artists’ collectives, art fairs, festivals,
the publication of books or catalogues by individual artists, the production of
films, the acquisition of works of art…
The Foundation supports the visual arts almost
exclusively through its own activities as a producer or co-producer of events
and programmes: : artists’ residencies in the workshops of the Hermès group ; the Foundation’s own programme of exhibitions ; H
Box (video
art).
- Projects connected with the world of design: The Foundation’s support for design
is centred on the organisation and administration of the Prix Émile Hermès for
young designer. - Sponsorship projects. - Projects steered by private enterprises for commercial ends.
